Kerygma Cockers is owned by Randall & Barbara Jahnke of Dodge City, Kansas.
Kerygma is a word that means proclamation. It is a distinctive word that is
particular to my vocation as a Lutheran pastor.
Our focus at Kerygma is on field bred English Cocker Spaniels. Our cockers are used primarily for hunting upland game/wild birds in many different types of cover. Kansas cover ranges from wide open CRP fields, milo and corn stalks, shelterbelts, to creek & river bottoms. The English Cocker has the ability to be an exceptional hunting dog in any of these types of cover.
Our cockers spend quite a bit of time with us in our home, as well. They make exceptional companion animals and at the same time are always ready to exit the house to do what they are bred to do....hunt!
As hunting is our first and foremost interest in our cockers, we are selective and limited in the number of breedings that we do. When a litter is being considered, we put our emphasis into continuation of what makes our cockers special: biddability, bird finding ability, mouth, ease of training.
